Katy Perry celebrates her birthday today surrounded by the love of Orlando Bloom and her two-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom. Born in Santa Barbara, California, in 1984, she was born Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson and rose to fame in 2008 thanks to the hits “I Kissed a Girl” and “H๏τ N Cold” from her debut album One of the Boys.
Born the second daughter of Pentecostal pastors Maurice Keith Hudson and Mary Christine Perry, Katy Perry has admitted she had a “wild youth” compared to what her parents, who are born-again Christians, wanted. She is the second of three siblings and in her adolescence she suffered continuous moves because her parents preached in different churches in the United States.
Unfortunately, Katy Perry struggled financially along with her family because they were very low on resources. The family used food stamps and thanks to the food bank of her parents’ church they kept themselves on their feet. However, she couldn’t eat “Lucky Charms” cereal because the word luck reminded Lucifer of her mother.
Katy Perry ‘s adolescence was marked by being part of a “pseudo-strict religious home” and on more than one occasion she declared that she “did not have a childhood.” Currently, the artist does not identify with any religion, but some time ago she said that she prays “all the time — for self-control, for humility.”
Obviously, this influenced the education of Orlando Bloom ‘s current wife because she had to attend various Christian schools and camps, among which the Paradise Valley Christian School in Arizona stands out; and the Santa Barbara Christian School in California.
