Maria Sharapova drew eyes in a bold yellow power suit as she attended the Couture Council lunch in New York on Wednesday.
The Wimbledon champion looked in good spirits as she beamed for snaps in the eye catching outfit.
The 36-year-old was attending the 2023 Couture Council lunch and awards presentation where Gabriela Hearst was being honoured the Couture Council Award for Artistry of Fashion.
The former athlete showcased her slim physique in the smart pleated trousers and matching silk shirt which she wore tucked in.
Maria added a few inches to her height as she finished the outfit with a pair of white chunky heels and a patterned bag.
The event marks the beginning of New York Fashion week with proceeds benefiting Museum at FIT, the only museum in New York exclusively dedicated to the art of fashion.
This year guests gathered as the founder and creative director of her namesake fashion brand Gabriela Hearst and creative director of French luxury fashion house Chloé received the prestigious award.
Maria was also seen arriving at the event as she let her hair fall naturally over her shoulders as she donned a pair of stylish sunglasses.
The tennis player is no stranger to the power suit after she commanded attention in a orange suit as she attended day one of the US Open in New York City last month.
Maria looked incredible in the eye catching fitted blazer and matching flared trousers from Gabriela Hearst.
The athlete has been enjoying her summer after she retired from the sport in February 2020 at the age of 32.
Maria has enjoyed a holiday over in Greece this summer as she took to Instagram earlier in July joking, ‘A holiday during the summer?? Still feels new to me’.
The US open was the first Grand Slam Maria has attended since her retirement and she told People that she actually ‘loves’ to watch the sport from the stands.
She said: ‘I love it. I love having an outsider’s perspective. I love watching the new generations unfold, and the sport in general. In fact, I think the US Open is the only tennis event that I’ve been to in person since I retired. It’s a really special one, with the energy of the crowds there.
‘I’m very happy with where I am at this stage of life. I appreciate what the sport has taught me and where it’s taken me, but I definitely love seeing it from the outside now.’
Maria, who welcomed a son Theodore in 2022 with fiancé Alexander Gilkes, added that since becoming a mum and retiring she is less strict on herself.
She said: ‘Ultimately, after you do have a child, there are so many other more important responsibilities that you have to take care of. If I miss a workout one day, I give myself that break.
‘Or if I want to be spoil myself and eat a cookie at midday randomly, then that’s okay too. So I think it’s finding the right moments of that balance.’
