Megan Fox sparks huge backlash after asking fans to donate to $30,000 GoFundMe for pal’s dad

Megan Fox has faced a wave of backlash on social media after sharing a link to a friend’s GoFundMe page. The Transformers actress, 37, made headlines earlier this week when she shared a screensH๏τ on her Instagram story, showing Brittney Boyce’s fundraising page.

The GoFundMe was requesting $30,000 to help with medical expenses for the nail technician’s dad, after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer – with more than $7,500 raised at the time of writing. Alongside the screengrab and a link, the star – who is thought to have a net worth of around $8million – penned: ‘My friends dad was just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer if you guys are able to help please do.’

However, Megan’s plea left many fans unimpressed as they questioned what she has offered the family of her own money, instead of urging her 21million followers to donate.

Discussing the move on Twitter, one raged: ‘Millionaire Megan Fox just posted a gofundme on her Instagram story for her friend’s dad’s 30 grand cancer medical bills and I am absolutely speechless.’ ‘Megan Fox sharing a gofundme for 30k has got to be a joke,’ another agreed. ‘As if she isn’t rich as f**k and could help their friend immediately lol.

‘Not Megan Fox posting her friends gofundme asking her fans to help. You ain’t got 30k? #MeganFox,’ a commenter agreed.

As a Twitter user yelled: ‘THEN WRITE HIM A CHECK BOO-BOO YOU GOT 30k RIGHT NOW! The nerve. gross.’

Megan has been active on Instagram since sharing the screensH๏τ, but is yet to address the outrage on social media.

In the caption of her new post, she was quick to anticipate potential anger after posing in a stunning, sheer, striped orange outfit, with a selection of silver necklaces.

Squashing speculation over her chest, the mom-of-three captioned the upload: ‘Before you start angrily typing- those are not my nipples, calm down.

‘They are safely and completely hidden under nipple covers so no worries, we will all live another day without a rip in the space-time continuum.’
