On September 1, 2023, less than two weeks before the main event on September 12, the MTV Video Music Awards announced the nominees in four more categories. Show of the Summer, Group of the Year, Song of Summer and Album of the Year will also be voted on by fans, but unlike the other public categories like Video of the Year that are decided on MTV’s website, these will be voted on through MTV’s Instagram Stories starting on Sunday, September 3.
